Never Forget!

Today, 6 years ago, was Sept. 11, 2001. I vividly remember that day. I heard on the radio that one of the towers was hit by a plane. I ran downstairs to turn on the TV. As I was watching, the 2nd plane came into view and hit the 2nd tower. I cannot describe the horror of watching that happen. People running everywhere, not knowing what to do. I think we need to remember the tragedy of this all. Thank our military for their willingness to try to continue to stop this from happening again. We live in a great country with many freedoms that some people want to take away from us. Time does heal pain and hurt but I think we need to always remember what we felt on that fateful day.

AMEN!!!
I agree totally. It's easy to start to forget with time- but I will never forget that morning. Watching the tv when it happened and not being able to pull myself away all day long. It was such an unbelievable feeling.

I've been thinking about it today. I have the day off and had been running errands, and I kept thinking about how different that day was. I will never forget.

Amen! I will never forget either - I think people take for granted how awesome our country is - we can live fear free! And to be a women in the USA - we are sooo blessed - the glass ceiling is NOTHING compared to death!

As I read your memory, I thought back...it was just another day to us...for about 10 seconds. I had just been woken up by the phone. dh called to say something was wrong in NYC. I turned on TV and said you are not correct it is the Pentagon and he learned of more planes that way as i was just waking up to the tragic news. I woke up my 9 year old son and said we need to pray, PRAY HARD! We both cried and watched in terror. I kept saying why are those people going in those buildings???

Then just before one of the towers fell, my friend called to wish me a happy birthday. OH YA! I forgot it was my birthday!
The news that followed for days of those we knew at church whose loved ones were there...oh the agony!

No, I will never forget...never.

When I think about my life at that time, it seems forever ago (I wasn't married, still working at the hardware, first year of college), but then when I think about seeing it on TV and watching the plans fly into the towers, it feels like it was only a year ago.

YES- Strange- I will never forget where I was...I was living in Philly, my first apartement out of college and on my way to work (I was working a later shift) I was your typical new grad.....POOR and didn't have a TV, so when I got to the train station and saw this scrappy looking man mumbling about a plain hitting NYC I thought, Oh dear, poor guy, he's a little crazy.....(Shame on me right?) Anyways about 10 minutes later i saw the lady at the counter glued to the TV set....come to find out that man, wasn't soooo crazy after all. When I got to the hospital the physicians where on code 1- which meant no physican was allowed to leave the hospital until they were told- at the time they thought there would be surrvivors heading our way...Saddly there wern't....YES, I will never forget
