Adios and good-bye

The day has come. I said good-bye to Chelsea and Shaelyn as they headed back to school. (although Chelsea started already last Thursday) Later this morning (or afternoon - depending when Katelyn gets up), I'll be going back to college with her to help her move back in. I don't know if you can tell by this picture what a dreary day it is. Shaelyn was out for the bus at 8:15 and it was still pretty dark. I took this around 9:15 and it's lighter out but still depressingly bleak and dreary.
All of our snow has melted (boo hoo) and it's rainy. It's supposed to get up to 60 degrees today. I'll take a bright, blue-sky winter day with snow anytime over a warm, yucky day like today. Oh well, the kids are back to school which is a good thing. Schedules have started again and we're heading back into school-mode routine!
I'm ready to start accomplishing more now that we're back to normal.

It's kind of nice to get back into the routine again. It is a dreary day out there!

Yeah- I'm not liking this weather either- it is really depressing.
Bring on the sun and the snow!

Yeah - its gross out. Plus there's mud everywhere which is always fun. I heard we're supposed to have winter weather against next week though, so I guess we should enjoy the little break and let our bones thaw a little. :)

I was surprised to see green grass. The snow has melted here even a little. We still have plenty of it and more is on its way by the end of the week. Hope your day is going better.

Well at least it's not cold! I hope Ginger makes it to Shaelyn today and have a safe trip back to college!

It is 86 degrees here today ... and it's nowhere near as hot as it was yesterday !

I was looking at the photo of what I assume is your back yard and I was like "wow, look at that cool cubby house off across the yard" then I read some more and looked at it again and noticed that it was not a cubby house at all but a bird house !!! Funny how your eyes play tricks on you some times ! So ... whether it is a cubby house or a bird house, it is cool and I like it ! :)

Hey, I see you still have the Christmas lights on your deck. On this dreary day, just plug in the lights. That should cheer things up a bit!

It is always nice to get back into a schedule. It is like chicken soup to our souls or something like that. (:

That is too funny what Bonnie said. I thought it was a playhouse in your backyard until I read her comment. I then enlarged the picture, and it IS a birdhouse! Crazy what tricks your eyes can play. It's hard to get back into a routine, I'm sure, but it's good to have you back in the blogworld!!

I'm ready to accomplish more, too. I just wish I had the energy to go with the wish.

We're warm here today, too - even warmer than where you are! We had windows open today, in fact, and it was still warm! It's nice for a break, but please, winter, come back soon!

Sounds a tad bit like an EEYORE day, doesn't it?

I remember the yuckiness that is left after the bright and beautiful snow has melted.

It is back up in the 80's here in South Florida, so at least it is bright and full of sunshine here.

You asked me a ??? about my son's hospital experience, and well...to make a long story short, he woke up one morning having seizures. We airlifted him (he was never sick or hurt a day before in his life) to the hospital they found out that his pancreas had been blocked by a gallstone (very rare for an 11 year old) and basically ALL his organs were shutting down and dying off. They removed his gallbladder and he lost 90% of his pancreas due to infection. He stayed in the PICU for 51 days. It was a complete nightmare, and yet through it all we knew that God was going to protect him and that He also had something amazing planned for our son's life.

He is doing so well now...you'd never know he had that happen to him. He has diabetes, but hey, that's not a big deal after all we went through.

God is so good, isn't He?

How's the routine of normalcy going? BTW, like the new profile photo. Very relaxing.
