My Latest Books

I've just finished reading two books - The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Many of you have probably already read this one. I chose it because it was recommended by Bonnie. I loved this book. It starts by taking place in Afghanistan before the Russian invasion. I learned a lot about Afghanistan and that culture.

The other book I finished is Uncharted by Angela Hunt.

This is a story about a group of friends who end up on a desolate island. I'm not going to say too much because it would give away the plot but I loved this book. It was easy to read and had a great message.

So if any of you are looking for something new to read; check these out!

I'm glad to see you've read The Kite Runner. Are you going to watch the movie ? I'm wondering how much they will stick to the book ... Should be interesting.

I've written down the Angela Hunt book. I'm going to see if my library has it ! Thanks for the recommendation !

I have read "Uncharted" and I was torn with what I thought about it. It really stretched my brain. I have read a lot of Angela Hunt's books and they all seem to stretch my brain.

I've been wanting to read The Kite Runner. I think I'll be adding Uncharted as well!

Thanks for stopping by my book blog. Why not try out the Princess Academy and see if she likes it. There aren't too many pictures but if she isn't ready for it now, she'll be ready in a few years. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane has really great pictures in the book - at least one per chapter. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the recommendations!

Leah read The Kite Runner and didn't care much for it. I can't remember why... but it's good to see another opinion. I guess I'll have to read it and form my own opinion. :)

Wow, that sounds great. It has been years since I have read a book for pleasure other than the Bible. I barely manage time for that one lately.

OOOHHH...I have heard SO much about the Kite Runner. We actually know to Afghani boys (they are in college) who fled their country and found exile. They were just granted assylum here in the US.

I have also heard lots about the book "Uncharted"...I need another novel. Most of my books are thinking books, and as much as I like to read and think, there are times when I just don't want to!
