Memory Verse Monday

Karen of Karen's Ramblings is hosting something new. It's called Memory Verse Monday.

The aim of "Memory Verse Monday" is to:

1. Memorize a passage (or passages) of scripture.

2. Share why you have chosen the verse or verses that you have.

3. Encourage one another with God has been saying to you through this verse.

4. Share the ways in which you find remembering verses works for you.

I thought this was a great way for me to start memorizing more scripture. I had to memorize a lot when I was growing up and in school and I do recall a lot of those passages, although not fully. So for this week, I'm going to do:
Psalm 19: 1-2
The heavens declare the glory of God
the skies proclaim the work of His hands
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.

I love this because looking outside lately at the fall weather, I can't help but wonder how people cannot see God in nature. It's just amazing to me all that He created.
Head on over to Karen's if you would like to participate too!

This is a great idea. I thought I would participate in this starting next Monday since I had already posted for today. I'm trying to not post more than one thing per day.

Beautiful verse. I've already signed up to take part in Bible Verse Monday. I'm glad Karen started this.

You picked a lovely verse this week. Blessings for a great week.

I love that verse and it really is appropriate for the season.

I love nature so much. As a girl I dreamed of visiting New England in the Fall, I had brochures and would pour over them, those colours, the leaves. Whenever I feel flat, I savour nature - yesterday walking around and enjoying the spring weather, the sea, the smells and sounds - ah, you just feel yourself thanking God for the beauty of his creation. Thanks for taking part Terri.

Such a great idea. I love the verses and I love that the version is different than how I learned it when I was young.

I love that verse too. I struggle with memorizing Scripture----my brain doesn't retain as well as it use to.

That's a great idea. And I love that verse. Sometimes it's a cool thought that when you're walking quietly through the woods and praising God in your heart, all of nature is screaming his praises around you!

Also - I love this song we sing in church:
The Heavens declare your majesty,
Creation and every living thing,
The Center of every song we sing,
The Heavens declare your majesty.

I was required to memorize a lot of Scripture while growing up at school and church, and it's a good thing! I still remember it pretty well, but I haven't memorized much since. Which is why I'm having the kids memorize theirs while they are young, too. They'll thank me one day!

I have been pondering on your memory verse as well as my own this week - well I was just checking out my friend Carolanne's blog and of course - realised that is where I have seen this scripture too, on her heading!
